Narconon Arrowhead proudly hosted the Narconon International Conference, drawing international officials and Narconon executives from eleven countries to celebrate the continued, worldwide success of the Narconon Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program.

The three-day conference, held at the residential facility in Canadian, Oklahoma, showcased the program’s nearly six-decade-long track record of delivering successful rehabilitation, with attendees from the United States, Mexico, and as far away as Nepal gathering to affirm the effectiveness of this unique path to a drug-free life.

A centerpiece of the event was the recognition from key government officials. Oklahoma State Representative Jim Grego presented an award, delivering a passionate address that emphasized the critical need for Narconon’s life-saving work. Rep. Grego highlighted the program’s proven track record, illustrating the importance of comprehensive treatment with a personal account of tragically losing a close family member to addiction.

Further international citations were presented by Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Member of the Federal Parliament of Nepal, and Ms. Luz Argel Gaxiola, the President of the DIF (National System for Integral Family Development) in Navajoa, Sonora, Mexico. Ms. Gaxiola's agency has collaborated with Narconon for over 20 years, underscoring the program's lasting positive impact on families and communities in Mexico.

Oklahoma State Representative Tim Turner also took the stage, acknowledging Narconon for its commitment to helping those in need and addressing the grave addiction problem facing Oklahoma. Rep. Turner spoke about the lack of treatment beds in the state and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring his constituents suffering from addiction can get real, effective help.

The audience was deeply moved by a testimonial from a recent graduate of the program and his mother. The graduate shared his journey of complete transformation:

“Before Narconon, I didn't have the strength to confront the damage I’ve caused, but today I have hope and I’m ready. I look forward to tomorrow, I can smile again, I can look people in the eyes,
I’m proud of myself.”

“My life has been rejuvenated and freed from restraints I put on myself,” he shared. “I started at 145 pounds and graduated at 175 pounds. Before Narconon, I didn't have the strength to confront the damage I’ve caused, but today I have hope and I’m ready. I look forward to tomorrow, I can smile again, I can look people in the eyes, I’m proud of myself.”

His mother recognized that the Narconon program saved her son’s life, a sentiment echoed by countless families supported by the worldwide network of centers.

The ceremony also included a special awards presentation honoring long-term Narconon executives and staff for their exceptional dedication to providing workable solutions.

Adding a powerful cultural element to the day, Mike Pahsetopah, a member of the Creek Nation and a recent inductee into the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Hall of Fame as a living legend, delivered a spectacular and authentic Native American “Fancy Dance” performance for the conference attendees.

Additional conference sessions focused on maintaining the rigorous standards and best practices required to deliver the Narconon Program's “gold-standard” approach and proven results worldwide. Developed by author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, the program includes a drug-free withdrawal process, a unique detoxification method to help eliminate drug residues, and essential Life Skills Courses that equip graduates with the practical tools to maintain a stable, drug-free life.
