The Future can Hold Happiness Once Again

happy woman with open arms

For a young person, the horror of addiction destroys his (or her) life beyond recognition. Education, dreams, friends—all are lost when a person becomes addicted to drugs or alcohol. The world doesn’t look as bright as it once did. Life turns inside out when the addict only searches out the next high. Danielle experienced it all, and yet found an effective solution before it was too late.

She said, “I started out using marijuana and when I was sixteen, and then I started using cocaine. I started using meth when I was seventeen. I dropped out of school so it affected my education. It really turned my life upside down.” Her ambition was lost and she knew she was headed down a dark path. Then she found Narconon.

With the Narconon program, an addict can find lasting recovery. The program has helped many achieve the happiness they thought was out of reach before. This drug and alcohol rehab program approaches addiction from all sides, addressing the physical and mental dependencies and providing a real self-discovery for the recovering addict.

The physical aspect of addiction is addressed in the beginning of the program, with a tolerable withdrawal process accompanied by nutritional support and one-on-one work with caring and trained staff. The recovering addict is carefully monitored to ensure she is eating and sleeping well. Then the Narconon New Life Detoxification is begun. On this sauna-based detox, residual drugs remaining in the body after long-term drug use are flushed out, leaving the person feeling much brighter and clearheaded.

Narconon’s life skill training comes next and is the final phase of the program. With a comprehensive education on living life without drugs, the recovering addict discovers ways in which to rebuild his life, repairing the parts of his life that were harmed in an addicted lifestyle. They learn about responsibility, and can finally get rid of all the guilt and depression that stems from addiction. In addition, the staff really care and do everything possible to make recovery as comfortable as possible.

Danielle said, “The people here don’t really look at you as a drug addict, but as a person who has had problems in their life. I can’t remember one time that they talked about me abusing drugs. It’s more about trying to help you figure out why you are in the situation you are in now. They treat you like a person.”

Danielle commented on how she was just opening a door she had closed and has a lot of ambition. “Everything is a lot clearer to me now that I’m not using drugs anymore. This has really started a new beginning for me. I have a lot of options that weren’t there before.” She added, “I would say to others to look at their life now. You can’t just keep living your life every day just for that one high. Narconon will really have a huge impact on your life. Narconon saved my life.”

Many who finish the Narconon program tell of how their lives were turned around and how they now have a future ahead of them that holds untold promise.
