Narconon Program Overview: Ustinya’s Experience as a Graduate and Her Drug-Free Recovery

Hello. My name is Ustinya, and I am a graduate of the Narconon program. I graduated my program in 2020. Today I want to answer the question, “What’s the difference between Narconon and any other rehab program that you may have heard of?” One of the things I really want to emphasize first is that you are very much taken care of at Narconon. You're treated with respect. You are expected to take the responsibility for the condition you are in, in such a caring way that is absolutely amazing.

You are not given any other drugs to “suppress” your addiction. You are provided with practical tools to change your life, and those tools you apply toward your life, and you are respected for making up your mind to change whatever is going on in your life. You are not treated as a drug addict. You are not judged; you are actually given the tools to make up your own mind about your life and to make that change for your environment, for your life. For whatever you are going through, one of the very first steps you do is you are doing the Detoxification.

“It is not an easy decision, but it is the decision that can change your life once and forever.”

As the drug addict goes on with his life or her life, the residuals from drugs stay in the body, and it affects the person; it affects the focus of the person, the awareness of the environment, and the energy level of the body. In the very beginning, you are getting rid of it; it’s like having a whole new world open in front of you. There are courses that can help you to be more in communication, like before the program. Like myself, I could not even put a sentence in my own language, my first native language. Now I really feel more confident over my ability to communicate to other people. Then you do the courses that help you with your personal ethics, with your, with yourself, with your family, with your environment. You figure out what are the friends of yours; you figure out what are the not-as-good friends of yours, and you actually get the practical tools to spot such things. There are so many exciting changes ahead of each person that comes to Narconon. The staff there is highly dedicated, highly trained; they know what you are going through. It is not an easy decision, but it is the decision that can change your life once and forever.
