How to Drug Test Someone

Drug test chasing

When dealing with a friend or family you suspect might be using drugs drug testing is one of the few ways to get a definite answer. Drug tests can both tell you that a person is using, what they are using, and if you know your facts within how long was their last use.

Pay attention this may be a couple of the most important points:

  • When you are going to drug test someone under no circumstances should you warn them or give them any indications you might.
  • Second, once you tell them you are drug testing them, they should not leave your side. If they tell you they can’t go, tell them they will sit on the couch next to you and drink water. If they make up an excuse or refuse to take it tell them: “This is proof that you are using drugs, if you were clean you would take the test.”

That is the truth, even if they were offended, they would take the test to prove you wrong.

Now, most drug tests come with instructions, if they don’t most of them work the same way. The person pees in a cup that comes with the test then either you put in the tester strip or just screw on the lid. Two lines usually indicate the person is negative for the substance while one line indicates they have used the substance.

Drug test

When buying a test, get one that is a 12-panel test—this will tell you specifically if a person is struggling with heroin addiction or any other sort of drug addiction.

The next thing is if you know how long a drug stays in someone’s system it gives you a time frame of when they might have used.

  • Alcohol: 3-5 days
  • Amphetamines: 1-3 days
  • Barbiturates: 2-4 days
  • Cannabis: 7-30 days
  • Codeine: 1 day
  • Cocaine: 3-4 days
  • Heroin: 3-4 days
  • LSD: 1-3 days
  • MDMA (ecstasy): 3-4days
  • Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth): 3-6 days
  • Methadone: 3-4 days
  • Morphine: 2-3 days

With this, you can tell within a certain time frame the person used a drug. It’s also important to keep in mind if you suspect the person is using a specific drug. Testing them close to when you noticed them acting strangely may be important. In addition to the steps above it is important to line up treatment and have professional help. Almost all convenience stores sell drug tests that will test for most things. However, there are two substances that many drug tests do not test for. The two common drugs that are not included in most drug tests are kratom and synthetic weed. These two, in particular, require a specific drug test which can be bought online.
