A Teen Headed Down the Dark Path of Addiction
When teens get involved in drug use, all their hopes and dreams seems to disappear. Parents who had hope that their son or daughter would grow to be happy and prosperous find their hopes evaporate as they see their child swept up in a storm of addiction. Kids drop out of school and pursue the high full-time, often turning to crime to support their habits. Michelle was one young girl who was fast on the path to an existence of horror. Her parents would have nothing to look forward to with their daughter except perhaps her spending her youth in prison.
Michelle describes her life of addiction. “I was addicted to heroin for two years and my life wasn’t really going anywhere. I had dropped out of school. I moved in with my boyfriend and was just getting high. I was getting in a lot of trouble, getting arrested.”
