San Francisco California Proclamation

PROCLAMATION

Whereas the City and County of San Francisco, California, is proud to recognize and honor Narconon Network, the leader in the fight against drug and alcohol abuse through its education and rehabilitation services for the last twenty-six years, at its first annual “Building a Drug Free Future Awards Dinner;” and

Whereas alcohol and drug abuse is a serious problem in our society to the degree that one out of five adult Americans has an alcohol or drug problem that requires treatment; and

Whereas there are many valiant individuals and groups in the Greater Bay Area that are working to rid our society and the problem of alcohol and drug abuse, and the activities of these individuals and groups are worthy of recognition; and

Whereas Narconon of Northern California will bestow Awards of Merit to certain of these individuals and groups to back up these peoples’ stance against drugs and substance abuse, and to encourage others to join the anti-drugs fight; now 1993.

Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Frank M. Jordan, Mayor of the City and County of San Francisco, do urge all citizens to join in the cause to ensure the well-being of this and all future generations by taking a stand against drug and alcohol abuse, and do hereby proclaim this 25th Day of September 1993 as…
