In October 2012, Tijuana, Mexico received its own Narconon rehabilitation center. This new center, founded by Padre Jaime Lares, is called Narconon Tijuana Casa del Reencuentro (House to Find Yourself Again). This center provides drug rehabilitation services for adult men and in April 2014, women’s services were added.
The opening of Narconon Tijuana followed many presentations of the Narconon drug prevention lectures and workshops on the Narconon First Step Program in locations across Mexico. In these workshops, the attendees learned several ways to help a person through a tolerable withdrawal. As Padre Lares learned about these supportive techniques, he wanted to offer the addicted in his area the entire Narconon route to recovery
It was not long before Padre Lares had found the staff for his new Narconon center and got them trained to deliver this technology of drug recovery. As the numbers of addicted grow in Northern Mexico, it is vital that a program be offered that can bring them back to health and productivity.
