Recovery at Narconon of Georgia
Narconon of Georgia has been helping people recover from drug abuse for over a decade. Their center is located just outside of Atlanta in Norcross Georgia.
The ability of the Narconon program to get people off drugs even extends to addicts of crack cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription drugs. One way the Narconon program helps people stay sober is by putting each recovering addict through a sauna detoxification step. For three weeks--a little longer for some people--each person exercises moderately and spends time sweating in a sauna. Under medical supervision, they also take a strict regimen of nutritional supplements that help the body release old drug toxins that became locked in fatty tissues.
Once that step of the program is completed, they then study and develop their life skills. These improved life skills are key to helping each person find lasting sobriety. A person originally began using drugs because of some problem life, whether it was boredom, stress and anguish over a loss or setback. Using drugs or alcohol seemed to make them feel better which led to them using these substances over and over again. Finally, psychological dependence on the drug and physical cravings will lock the person into that pattern of drug abuse.
At Narconon Georgia, each person progresses at their own speed through the rehabilitation process. The average time is three to five months, but if it takes longer, there is no additional cost.
